Quaty BAU Workshop
A café where Japan and Brazil meet—through coffee, culture, and street energy.

Quaty is a concept café born at BAU, blending Japanese heritage with the urban pulse of São Paulo. I worked on naming, branding, strategy, and campaigns to launch a space where coffee becomes a cultural, inclusive, and visually bold experience.

We built a brand that fuses Japanese minimalism with Brazilian street energy, rooted in real historical context: Japanese immigration to Brazil. Set in Beco do Batman, São Paulo’s street art Mecca the café concept thrives on cultural intersections, tourist flow, and visual impact. The name Quaty (from kua’ti, “coati”) reflects curiosity and playfulness, an animal that loves coffee cherries, much like our audience loves discovery. With collaborations like Titi Freak (Brazilian-Japanese graffiti artist) and BAW (streetwear), we shaped a visual identity for Gen Z that’s bold, stylish, and grounded in local culture. The tone is inclusive, vibrant, and a little rebellious. Strong typography, a punchy palette, and cultural storytelling elevate Quaty from café to creative space for crews, for the curious, for the culture.
