New Graphic Landscape Exhibition
R.E.F. Slaughterhouse, Rome
As part of the Romaeuropa Festival collaboration at NABA, I was selected to exhibit my poster in the New Graphic Landscape exhibition. Under the guidance of Studio Mistaker, we were asked to develop a visual identity without using any direct references to dance or art—no text, no explicit symbols.
Concept
To challenge the constraints, I chose the cactus as a central metaphor—unexpected, sharp, and resilient. Initially misunderstood, the idea gained traction for its boldness. I distorted the cactus in Photoshop, pixelating and slicing it outside the frame to evoke tension and kinetic movement. A hidden ballerina silhouette was integrated subtly, playing on form recognition and viewer perception. The result was an abstract yet emotionally charged visual, speaking to the festival’s avant-garde spirit. The project aimed to provoke curiosity without overt clues, relying on visual rhythm and layered textures. My work was one of the few selected for public exhibition, celebrating experimentation in contemporary visual language.
