From myth to legacy
As part of a collaboration between Nike, NABA, and Studio Natale, I designed two posters for the Air Max 1 ’86 anniversary, later exhibited at MACRO Museum in Rome. The project explored Nike’s visual heritage through two different creative directions, balancing innovation and nostalgia.
The challenge
Represent the essence of an iconic sneaker without relying on slogans or commercial visuals. The goal was to create artworks that celebrated Nike’s cultural impact through pure design language.
The approach
I developed two distinct poster concepts. The first interprets the Air Max as a symbol of rebirth, combining AI-generated textures and surreal light to create a dreamlike vision. The second uses bold vintage typography and a minimal layout dominated by “1986” and “Air,” paying tribute to Nike’s heritage with a timeless, editorial feel. Both designs reflect motion, energy, and evolution the spirit that defines the Air Max legacy.
